Final Days: TB, drugtests and soju!

Today we had our teaching demonstrations! I think they went quite well, there were 9 groups each presenting a demo lesson to class of adults (many of whom pretended to be children). My group was given the topic "I have a headache" on health related issues! It was a fantastic comedy of errors complete with "ums and ehs,"fake fainting and some fantastically tacky miming on my part!

Half way through the presentations our demo leader said "one of you actually has a middle school placement." Turns out that person was me! It was so difficult to make myself focus for the rest of the lesson. :)

After the teaching demos we met with representatives from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and received our orientation certificates and papers saying were STD, drug and TB free. It was hysterical seeing all the sighs of relief as people opened their envelopes!

Then we went on to our closing ceremony and final dinner! I had fully intended on staying in and packing the night before...but as per usual, ended up going out with the Seoul folks. We found a tiny convenience storem bought a few bottles of beer, soju and makgeolli (Korean rice wine) and sat outside the shop drinking on their patio. It was nice and I am really happy to be going to Seoul with such an excellent group of people. Were off bright and early in the morning!
